INTELLIGENT CHARACTER RECOGNITION

The EasyScan system is a dedicated ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) solution designed to scan and recognise forms containing information, processing the data and presenting it in a format compatible with other software applications.

This innovative, technologically advanced ICR system is a solution designed to easily fit into existing processes, ideally health & safety management procedures, where the use of observation cards is part of the data collection process.

The system is designed to work with either existing or new documents, and will scan, process and designate data in a preferred format in one simple action, saving massively on manual input time and speeding up feedback, which can be made almost instant.

The integrated software is a specially tailored solution using the latest in automated data capture and intelligent character recognition technology. It is the only system of its kind considered reliable enough to provide consistently accurate output in the long term. New or existing cards, forms or documents are ‘mapped’ to the system, which will then recognise specific fields within the media and process the data in a preferred format, for example as a .xls or .csv file, compatible with Microsoft Excel, enabling easy population into existing systems for further analysis and trending, if required.

The system is designed to be used for any general form processing where check marks, hand printed text or tick boxes are requiring fast digitised input, processing and analysis.

It will work with either existing or new documents, and will scan, process and designate data in a preferred format in one simple action, including .ppt format, compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint.

The system has a dedicated, powerful in-built data analysis module, which can be tailored to the specific needs of the client.

The system is dedicated, and boots straight into the Main Menu when turned on.

The easy ‘Switchboard’ interface allows for simple selection of functions, in just a few seconds.

Output can be in multiple formats, for easy access and integration into existing generic office packages. The system can also output data in ‘.ppt’ format, with graphs and pie charts, allowing for display through ‘PowerPoint’ or similar presentation package. This provides instant feedback to the teams, and actions can be planned based on the analytical indicators.

The system is stand-alone, and requires only a standard power supply to function. No Internet connection is required, nor does the system need to be connected into a LAN Network.

Any size card or document can be mapped to the system up to A4. The powerful duplex automated scanner graps each card and scans both sides simultaneously, sending the selected data directly into the system, saving a lot of valuable time on data input and processing. Stacks of up to thirty cards can be placed in the cradle at any one time, depending on thickness. The whole process is completed within a few seconds using only one click of the mouse.

Feedback is immediate, allowing for consultation with the teams who conducted the observations straight away.

The system allows for actions and interventions to be planned and monitored within effective time scales.

Teams have proven to be more motivated towards a system which provides immediate results and feedback following their efforts in observing and gathering the data.

The system can also link into an optional Central Drill Analysis Solution, which can process data from multiple systems, allowing for further comparisons and trending. The system outputs all desired reports and can generate trends and comparisons based on current and historic data.

The system can work with a client’s own card design, or equally as well with a generic, existing card, such as the ‘STOP’ observation card.
